The IPM Programme is the first of its kind in India. IIM Indore admits about 120 students to the IPM every year. How to Enter IPM
The students undergo a rigorous selection process:
- An application form aimed at understanding the students' proficiency in academics, as well as in co-curricular activities is filled up by the aspirant.
- An entrance examination follows, to test the applicant's aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English and Mathematics.
- Shortlisted candidates appear for personal interviews. The interview panel comprises well–qualified professors from IIM Indore and other prestigious institutions. The interview judges the students' level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills and knowledge.

IPM Entrance Exam : Eligibility Criteria
- For all General and OBC Category: Minimum 60% in X and XII standard or equivalent examinations. Maximum age: 20 yrs. as on July 31, 2020.
- For SC, ST and PWD (DA) Category: Minimum 55% in X and XII standard or equivalent examinations. Maximum age: 22 yrs. as on July 31, 2020.
Status for Appearing Candidates:
Candidates who are appearing for class 12 in 2019-20 session are eligible to apply. As per the official notification, students who are about to complete XII standard or equivalent by the end of June 30, 2020 can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria as mentioned above. If selected, such candidates will be offered provisional admission. At the time of registration for the programme, they must produce X and XII standard mark sheet along with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidate’s admission offer stands cancelled.
Foreign Boards affiliation
Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.
Registration process:
For the current year i.e. 2020, the official dates for submission of Application From has not been notified, but it is advised that all the eligible candidates should submit their online application at www.iimidr.ac.in on or before the official date.
After filling the Application Form, the candidates have to Pay the online non‐refundable application fee of Rs. 1400 (for General and NC-OBC category) or Rs.700 {for SC, ST and PWD(DA) category}.
Note: Candidates belonging to NC‐OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DA categories need to produce valid certificate(s) in support of their reservation category. No change in the category will be entertained after submitting the application.
Selection process
As notified under the official notification, the selection procedure for the 5 year IPM program consists of 3 stages:
All those who satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria should submit their application Form online.
After that, candidates will be asked to give a IPM aptitude Test. This comprises of the 2 hour online aptitude test, which consists of 100 questions and 2 sections.
- The Quantitative Ability section is given 75 minutes and has 60 questions
- The Verbal Ability section has 40 questions to be solved in 45 minutes.
Candidates have to clear the overall as well as the sectional cut-off to be called for the next round. In the next round, Short listed candidates are called for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The list is created considering only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the two sections of Aptitude Test. The minimum cut off mark in each section will be based on the categories of applicants.
