The final merit list after taking into account GD PI scores will be shared by the colleges tentatively around July 20, 2024. Final merit lists are prepared on the basis of scores of entrance exam, Grade XIII scores, and scores of GD and PI.
The list is made taking into account reservation criteria and allocation of seats to students from reserved categories. Students who scored marks equal to or above the cut off will be called for GD PI rounds. Cut-offs come into the picture after merit lists are announced. There are various factors which affect cut-offs such as the number of applicants, the number of reserved category students, how tough the paper was, seats available in a college, seats available counting all colleges, and the number of students opting for a particular course.
There are 3 types of colleges which follow three different kinds of admission processes. This is important from the final result perspective. These 3 kinds of colleges are as follows:
1. Colleges that give 15% weightage to both these GD PI rounds combined do not take into account the marks of the qualifying exam and give the entrance exam score the remaining 85% weightage. An example is Deen Dayal College.
2. Certain other colleges give 10% weightage to GD and PI each, and 50% weightage to the entrance exam along with remaining 30% weightage to the qualifying exam scores. Shaheed Sukhdev college of business studies, DU is one such college.
3. Last, of all there are colleges which do not have a GD-PI round at all and they give 65% weightage to the entrance exam scores, and 35% weightage to grade XII qualifying exam.
These admission criteria is the discretion of each individual college and will be notified by college authorities on their official website. Students can contact the college of their choice for such information. The admission process will also be intimated to the students at the time of counseling.
