BJMC stands for Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication. If media studies as a subject and career interests you then this course be an ideal one after your 10+2 or HSC. It also falls under the list of IP University Courses. For admission into BJMC course in IP University, you need to appear for the IPU CET.
The admission process for 2018 has already begun and the date for IPU CET is 29th April 2018. The entrance is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. On the basis of the score in the CET, students get admission into various undergraduate and graduate courses. The admissions into programmes of studies in Indraprastha University primarily happen through the common entrance test (CET) conducted by the university. It is also sometimes on the basis of merit of the qualifying degrees.

The IP University courses fee structure varies as per the course and the duration. The average annual course for BJMC falls between 50,000 Rs to 20 lakhs depending on the institute offering the course. The course level would be an undergraduate one with the duration being 3 years. The syllabus would be a semester-based one with a mix of practical as well as theory. The delivery of the course would be through a combination of lectures, study tours and practical training sessions. The course also involves an internship. The scheme of assessment is divided into 60% weightage on laboratory activities and 40% weightage to end-term practical examination and viva. The practicals include Practical class work, Practical Report Writing, Practical Lab Examination and Viva-voce.
The performance of students in each semester is evaluated as follows:
50:50 weightage to End Term Examination and Sessional work. The weightage would be out of total 100 marks respectively.
Full weightage of 100 to Purely Sessional subject
Full weightage of 100 to Purely Practical subject
The BJMC course falls under IP University courses for commerce and IP University courses for arts as both Arts and Commerce undergraduate students are eligible for this. Meaning, students who opted for the Arts and/or Commerce specialization after SSC can apply for the CET and get admission into any of colleges under IP University that offer this course. The selection depends on various factors like the CET score, HSC percentage, performance in the GD/PI rounds, etc.
