Different aspects of GGSIPU CET B.Com counseling:
Students must go through the instructions about GGSIPU B.Com online counseling before the online counseling begins. Students are also strongly advised to go through the user manual, and FAQs about counseling. This will be for the purpose of being clear of what is expected of the candidates during counseling. For the same, the students must make themselves familiar with websites www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipuadmissions.nic.in. This information will be your general guideline for counseling.
Counseling Fee
The first step is paying the GGSIPU B.Com counseling fee of a sum of Rs. 1000 plus taxes and charges that may become applicable. This fee is non refundable. The fee has to be paid by going to the website www.ipuadmissions.nic.in and selecting the option which says 'payment of counseling participation fee'. Here you will have to provide your CET roll number, date of birth and mobile number.
a. Two payment options will show up on the same page which are
- Cash payment through challan by payment in any branch of an Indian bank
- Debit or credit card or net banking
c .Print out the receipt of payment, and use it for future reference.

Registration for counseling
The second step that students have to take in the GGSIPU B.Com online counseling 2018 is registration. Before registration, the students must also make sure that they are eligible to appear for counseling. Students should also ensure that all information they provide is correct to the best of their knowledge, and if the information is false then their candidature is likely to be canceled.
- When the counseling fee has been paid by cash in the bank then students must register two days after the fee payment since it takes that long for the amount to reflect in the account.
- One has to register on www.ipuadmissions.nic.in by filling in the CET details, and later the personal, academic and contact details have to be provided.
- A login ID and password will hence be generated. Do not confuse this with the application ID and password. Keep your password safe, and secure by maintaining secrecy. You can change your default password to something else by accessing the change password menu.
- One can edit registration form details anytime and any number of times before the registration dates expire.
- Take two copies of print outs of the form once you are sure of all details.
- Choice filling is the third step towards GGSIPU CET B.Com seat allotment. This is important and compulsory. Here one has to give his preference of college and course. For example you can fill your choice as B.Com in 16 colleges in the order of your preference. Fill the max. number of choices so that chances are high for you to get a seat of your choice. Not doing so may result in you not being allotted a seat.
- After the first round of seat allotment the students will be allowed to edit or modify their college choices for the next round.
- A print out of saved choices should be taken as well.
- The fourth step is allocation of seats and depends on factors such as your choice filling, merit rank, the category to which you belong, and the region.
- Let us revise who all will not be eligible for allocation of seats
- Those who have not paid the fee
- Those who paid the fee but did not register
- Those who paid the fee, and registered but did not do choice filling
- Those who were allotted a seat but failed to pay part payment of fee of Rs.40,000 will not be called for next round of seat allotment.
- Those who got a seat, paid part payment of Rs. 40,000 but withdrew from admissions following the procedure prescribed are not to be called for next round of counseling. But, these students are eligible for spot counseling.
If after a particular round of GGSIPU B.Com counseling 2018 the student is satisfied with his seat then he may freeze the seat and this way he signals that he does not want to appear for further seat allotment rounds. If the student does not freeze the seat then he will be offered a seat higher on his preference list in the next round and cannot go back to the earlier allotted seat.
Withdrawal from the procedure and fee refund
1. There is a withdraw option in the candidate's account and by opting for the same the student gets a fee refund and cannot sit for further rounds except he can still appear for spot counseling.
2. Let us see who all cannot sit for further counseling rounds.
- Students who withdraw from the admission process
- Students who freeze and accept a seat
- Students who have not paid part payment of Rs. 40,000 after getting freezing a seat
- Students who are not eligible
After this round the students cannot withdraw the seat or get a refund. In this round the region wise and category wise seats all are converted to unreserved general category after all reserved category seats are filled.
Sliding round of counseling
Only those who have been assigned a seat, have paid part fee i.e. Rs. 40,000 and have not frozen the seat or withdrawn will be called for this round. If a student does not want to participate in this round and has paid part academic fee then he will be asked to mandatorily freeze a seat.
Spot counseling
All seats for this round will be treated as unreserved seats, and this round is held only offline. The students have to pay additional Rs. 2000 towards this round as fee. All qualified students who did not get or opt for a seat in earlier rounds will again be called for this round. All admitted students can also appear for this round and they have to pay Rs. 5000 as transfer fee. Their fee paid to the college and the admission fee would be transferred to the new college. After this round no withdrawal from admission or refund is possible.
This counseling is the last step towards GGSIPU CET B.Com seat allotment, and the admissions. The last rounds of counseling and spot counseling round are going to be completed by last week of July 2018.The seats which are still vacant after spot counseling will be filled too by the process which will be notified during the first week of August 2018.
