Steps in the IPU BCA selection procedure
The process begins with the exam notification. The notification document for the 2018 edition of the exam was released in October 2017 and can be found on the official website www.ipu.ac.in.
BCA entrance exam Eligibility
The first step which you have to take in the GGSIPU selection procedure is checking if you are eligible for BCA Entrance Exam. BCA applicants are eligible when they have cleared the grade XII exam with English as a compulsory subject and either Maths or computers as a subject. One is also eligible if he or she has a three year diploma course in any stream of engineering. Either course should be done from a recognized institute and the age limit is such that one should not be more than 21 years as on August 1, 2018. Plus, the min. marks obtained in either of the courses should not be less than 50%.
Application forms
The next step in BCA entrance exam selection procedure is filling the application forms. The dates for filling the BCA Entrance Exam Application Forms are in between January 22- May 1, 2018. Note that the application forms will only be filled online. Register on the online portal, fill the form and pay the application fee of Rs. 1000 excluding processing charges, and taxes. Admit cards
Your application forms will be assessed and if all is found okay then admit card will be released online on the official website and sent to you by mail. Download and take a print out on or before April 29, 2018. Entrance exam
Next step is the entrance exam which will be held on May 12, 2018.
Results
You have to now wait for the results. May 24, 2018 is the designated date for the results post which cut offs will be declared. Expect the cut offs by June, 2018. Those who have scored marks more than or equal to the cut off will be called for counseling depending upon the availability of seats.
Counseling
Three rounds of counseling will usually take place and seats will be allotted on the basis of merit and preference. All students appearing for counseling have to pay a requisite amount as counseling fee by cash or online via net banking or by a debit or credit card. The dates for the same are between June 13- July 25, 2018. It is during this time that verification of documents will be organized.
Once a student takes a seat being allotted to him then he has to pay the admission fee, and report to the designated college and the admission process comes to a close.
