BCA Entrance Exam Counseling Process 2018
GGSIPU gives admission to students in its BCA course on the basis of merit in the GGSIPU entrance exam. The counseling process is the last step towards the admission process of the IPU CET BCA exam. This article will be your IPU CET BCA counseling guide. The IPU CET BCA 2018 counseling will take place online only. The IPU CET BCA counseling dates are between June 13- July 26, 2018.
Steps by step BCA Entrance Exam Counseling Process
Payment of counseling fee
The first step towards IPU CET BCA counseling procedure is seeing if you have attained a rank in the merit list. Only meritorious students will be called for counseling. If you will be appearing for counseling based on your rank then for that the first measure you have to take is paying counseling fee of Rs. 1000. This counseling fee can be paid by three modes
- Cash deposit in the bank
- Debit or credit card
- Net banking
Make sure that you get an acknowledgement slip for your payment. This may be useful for future reference.
One very important thing for you to know is that if you are paying online then you have to register for counseling on the very same day. But, if you are paying by depositing cash in the bank then wait for two working days before you register as the money will reflect in the payee account, not before these 2 days. The payment is non-refundable.
Registering for counseling
Registration is the second step in the counseling process. Follow these steps to register:
- Go to the official website ipu.ac.in and get to the "admission" link. The official link is https://ipuadmissions.nic.in/
- Click on the online counseling tab
- Click on registration tab and fill the form
- A login ID and password is generated
- Take two print outs of the form
Counselling letter
Next step is going to the official GGSIPU website called ggsipu.ac.in and downloading your counseling letter. This letter will contain all key information about counseling. While registering you will have to furnish information such as Roll number or registration number. Like we discussed above, a new ID, and password will be generated and you will need this account throughout the counseling.
Choice filling
After this process, the interesting part begins. You will have to go for what is called choice filling wherein you have to rate the affiliated colleges in your order of preference. You have to fill the choices in the dashboard of the counseling panel. It is possible for you to alter the choices too. Make a final choice and lock the choices and take a print out. Filling of preferences is a must and no student will be called for counseling without filling choices.
Verification of documents
One must have heard that no admission is complete without verification of documents. This is the next logical step towards counseling. You need to submit an original copy as well as a Xerox of the following documents:
- Grade X mark sheet, and certificate
- Grade XII mark sheet, and certificate
- Rank card for the 2018 IPU CET BCA exam
- Admit card of the 2018 IPU CET BCA exam
- Character certificate
- Certificate of category for which one seeks reservation
- Photographs
- Seat allotment letter
Withdrawal from counseling and spot counseling
If a student wishes to withdraw from the admission process then there is a withdraw button on the dashboard where one can choose to withdraw. No student who withdraws will be called for next round of online counseling but such a student may be called for the spot counseling round if it takes place. What is spot counseling? Spot counseling round is not mandatory. It takes place only when some seats are vacant even after three rounds of counseling. Those who appear for this round have to pay another additional fee of Rs. 2000. Those who have already paid part of the academic fee and wish to appear for spot counseling have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 5000 which is called transfer fee.
Sliding Round
There is a counseling round called sliding round which is also organized by the university. This round takes place also after all three rounds of IPU CET BCA counseling are done with. This is for two type of cases :
- Students who have not frozen any seat or confirmed any seat.
- Those who have not withdrawn from the process and paid 40,000 as part payment towards admission.
This is helpful when you have been waiting for a seat higher on your preference list than the one you are being offered or allotted. This helps highly to upgrade your seat.
You can either opt for a seat or withdraw. In case you are choosing and freezing a seat you should get your admission offer letter, pay the remaining part of the admission fee and join college. Some students have a good rank but still do not get a seat allotted because they did not fill up all preferences. Do not make that mistake and fill as many choices as you get an option to fill.
