Delhi University (DU) JAT (Joint Admission Test) offers three prominent courses in Management and Finance namely BMS, BFIA and BBE. All these courses are considered as the most reputed courses in management in Asia. The University of Delhi conducts the Common Entrance Test (DU JAT) for the admission in Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS). All those who aspire to do BMS, BBE and BFIA course have to first apply for the DU JAT Entrance Exam on the official website of Delhi University.
According to the DU JAT Exam Eligibility Criteria, students who have passed higher secondary from a recognized board with a minimum of 60% marks (best four) are eligible to apply. The first aspect of the selection process is the eligibility. Without being eligible no student will be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.
DU JAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria - Relevant Details
The eligibility criteria is two-fold. First of all, the students must have cleared the qualifying exam which is the grade XII CBSE exam or the student should have passed the senior secondary school certificate or any other examination which has been approved by the CBSE or similar school board. Those who are appearing in the qualifying exam in Grade XII are also eligible.Secondly, all the marks obtained in the qualifying exam should not be less than 60% for those who belong to the general and other backward class category and the criteria forward and widows of armed personnel and those who are differently abled is that they should have obtained a min. of 54% marks and finally the criterion for scheduled and reserved category students is that they should have obtained a min. of 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

How to count best four for Delhi University's Application Form
The minimum percentage requirement for SC, ST, CW and PwD category candidates is 55 per cent in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate.The marks for general category will be counted from their four major subjects, two of which are English, and Mathematics and two other subjects should be any of the electives which are approved by the Delhi University. The reserved category students should have got the min. marks prescribed in all their four subjects of which marks are being counted in aggregate.Once you are sure of Eligibility, refer to the Exam Pattern and Syllabus of DU JAT entrance Exam 2020. Some cases where a candidate won't be eligible to apply:
- The students whose results of the qualifying exam were awaited at the time of exam should produce a confirmed result and mark sheet at the time of admission or counseling of the DU JAT BMS exam. Out of all students those who couldn't score the min. marks required will have their candidature canceled even if they cleared the entrance.
- If a student gets a compartment in the current year in the qualifying exam then he or she is not eligible. Also, if a student appears in the grade XII exam and wants to sit for a particular subject's exam again to improve the score which is called the improvement exam is also not eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
- The good part though is that there is no upper age limit at which a student cannot apply in the exam and there is no lower age limit either when a student fulfills the above mentioned criteria.
- All students who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria and apply for the entrance exam for DU JAT BMS will have their applications rejected and will not be allowed to sit for the exam. This is the process where all ineligible candidates get screened and rest fill the application form, appear for the entrance and make it to a seat in a DU college in the undergraduate management course.
Foreign Candidates:
All foreign students who are willing to take admission in BMS/BBA FIA/ business economic courses in the Delhi University affiliated colleges should apply for seats reserved only for foreign nationals and should apply via the foreign students advisor as per the rules that Delhi University has made in this regard.
It is pertinent to note that 15 % seats are reserved for scheduled caste, 7.5 % for scheduled tribe, 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates when these students do not belong to the creamy layer and are included in the central list.
DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Reservation of Seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
27% seats will be reserved for the candidates belonging to the OBC category. Also, at the time of giving admission to this category candidates, the college must ensure that the students do not belong to non-creamy layer and is included n the central list.
OBC candidates will be given a relaxation of 10% in the minimum eligibility marks of the said course and in the admission entrance test, 10 per cent of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for General Category candidates.
