The English section of the AILET 2018 paper consists of 35 questions for one mark each. This means that the total marks allocated to the English section are 35 marks. The first 6 questions will be based on reading comprehension, then the next 10 questions will ask you which part of the sentence is wrong and if there is an error then what is it. Then in the next 8 questions one has to complete the sentence with one of the given words and finally in the next 11 questions one has to fill in the blanks with appropriate words.
My first tip for AILET 2018 is that one should not spend a maximum of more than 20 minutes attempting this section and you should try and finish this section within 15 minutes to save time for the other sections and for revision.
My second tip is that you read newspapers, magazines and good novels and identify the meaning of all words that you do not already know. This is not only going to improve your reading speed but also your vocabulary.
My third tip for AILET 2018 is that one should practice all past year papers because this would give you an accurate picture of what to expect and you would know where you stand.
My fourth tip for AILET 2018 is that one should take mock tests so that one knows where he stands vis a vis competition from across the country.
My fifth tip for AILET 2018 is that you sit with a dictionary when you read. Don't keep it for later to find out the meaning of any word which is new to you. Do it in the now.
My sixth tip to you is that you should know your grammar well. Know where to use colons and semi colons, know where to put commas, and know where you can use apostrophes.
Write a blog is my seventh tip. Today, there are many great websites that make blogging fun. Try WordPress, Blogspot and Tumblr. These blogs will encourage you to use new words. Also, if you do not find reading books interesting then you could start following some good blogs that interest you. There is something for everyone.
My eight tip is that you could spell words out loud and record it when you are speaking. Then listen to that tape and you will remember the spellings.
My ninth tip is that if you do not like reading at all then listen to e books. This way you could improve your pronunciations and find the meanings of new words to learn more and improve your vocabulary.
My tenth tip is that you start writing a diary. Write grammatically correct sentences there so that you feel more confident.
My eleventh tip is that if you are unsure of your grammar then use grammar software like Grammar and others to correct your grammar and then remember the corrections so that you do not repeat your mistake. Do this even if this means that you have pay for the software.
My twelfth tip is that you find someone who's English you admire and get them to correct you whenever you go wrong plus have them speak with you in English only so that you learn every time you have a conversation with this person.
My last tip is that you remain realistic. If your English is poor then it can be improved to become okay but not excellent so make do with what you can confidently achieve. It is not worth it trying to do something unattainable and losing your confidence on the way. Try and become excellent only when you are already very good and in this case you could aim for a perfect score in the subject.
