The candidates are required to apply for NCHM JEE to get admission in IHM, Kolkata. The exam is one of the well-known Hotel Management entrance exam in India conducted at national level. The criteria for applying to NCHM JEE is –
- Candidate should have cleared 10+2 with English as the core subject.
- Candidate should not be more than 22 in age in case of General/ OBC and 25 in case of SC/ST/PD.
- Candidate waiting for 10+2 result can also apply by showing provisional certificate.
The exam is being conducted in offline mode. Students appearing for the test are required to bring their admit card at exam Centre else will not be allowed to sit for the exam. The exam pattern is Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) with 200 questions carrying 1 mark each. The test paper is divided in 5 sections such as –
- Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (30 marks)
- Logical Deductions and Reasoning (30 marks)
- General Knowledge and Current Events (30 marks)
- English Language (60 marks)

The exam is being conducted both in English and Hindi language leaving the ‘English language’ section. There is a negative mark of 0.25 for every wrong answer. All sections are compulsory to attend. The candidate will be allotted colleges based on their NCHM JEE marks and counselling.
Students also have to undergo for industrial training of different duration of time at recognized hotels for different courses. For Hospitality and Hotel Administration program student have to undergo for 17 weeks industrial training.
